Christ School alumnus Sidney Gibbs ’19 became the all-time leading rusher for Shaw University football last Saturday.
Sidney (3,186 yards) broke the former record (3,031) with a 183-yard effort and his 64-yard touchdown run in Shaw's 27-26 loss to Livingstone. He was named the CIAA Offensive Back of the Week.
Sidney is a 5-foot-9, 200-pound senior from Black Mountain, N.C. For the season, he has 99 carries for 500 yards and five touchdowns.
Sidney had a relatively short career for Christ School, as he was injured for much of his senior year. However, he still holds school records for single-season yardage (2,029), average yards per carry (14.2), and single-game yardage (337).
