Student and Residential Life Awards Announced

OCTOBER

The Student and Residential Life Awards are a monthly recognition of boys who go above and beyond to enhance the Christ School community.

Nominations come from faculty members based off their observations of demonstrated leadership.

Dean of Students Drew Hyche ’94, Director of Residential Life Benjie Colberg, and Assistant Dean of Students Wesley Shelmire announced October's winners Friday in Assembly. An abbreviated version of the comments from the faculty are in quotation marks after each name.

Students of the Month: Patrick Wang ’24. “He strives to do the best in all he encounters. He loves to support Greenie sports outside of his own. I’ve never seen a student take such good care of his mind, body, and soul."

John Barton ’25. “This young man comes into class every day with a positive attitude centered on learning and improving. He is willing to help others, unwilling to compromise on doing what is right, and looks on the bright side of everything. This student puts honesty, integrity, and helpfulness at the forefront of everything he does."

Job Proctor of the Month: Henry Nicholls ’23. “He is always present, always there to help students with their job, always respectful, and never demeaning. And he takes his responsibilities seriously.”

Senior Leader of the Month: Brian Sheridan ’23. “This guy is the man. He is such a great person to be on duty with. He takes the role and responsibility seriously, while also just being enjoyable to be around. He is omnipresent even when he is not on duty and handles his responsibility with a professionalism rarely seen in young men his age. He is constantly mentioned in the dorm reports as a true asset to the team.”

Roommates of the Month: Ty Dixon ‘23 and Kaden Brown ’24. “I love the bond that these two guys have developed. They’ve gotten along incredibly well since the start of the year when they didn’t know each other. But lately, individually and together, they’re just at the next level. They’re super friendly, polite, down to earth, and ready to do what needs to be done to make this dorm great. They have fun, but can also be very thoughtful, as evidenced by a deep discussion I witnessed weeks ago. They are top-notch Greenies, and we are lucky to have them in the dorm."
