GREENSBORO - Tiger Woods famously wears red in his wardrobe on Sundays.

The color choice worked like a charm for Christ School senior Taylor Kuehn ’23, too, as he repped his future college and bested a field of more than 100 other junior players to win the Carolinas Golf Association’s two-day Carolinas Collegiate Showcase.

Taylor topped the leaderboard Sunday at the Grandover Resort & Spa with a 36-hole score of 4-under (140). He is from Asheville and signed to play college golf for Samford University earlier this month.

Taylor was one shot better in the Greensboro tournament than Colin Salema of Matthews, N.C. (141). Taylor was the co-leader going into Sunday after shooting a first-round score of 68 Saturday on Grandover's West Course.

The Carolinas Collegiate Showcase is the final event of 2022 for the CGA.

“It’s cool,” Taylor said of his win.

“I’ve seen a bunch of friends win tournaments and my sister (Wake Forest University All-American and reigning ACC Player of the Year Rachel Kuehn) always talks about that winning feeling. It’s cool to be a CGA champion, I can’t lie to you.”
