Posters line the walls of Pingree Theater, one for every play that Mary Dillon has directed since 2001. Her 40th is a timely holiday gift to the Christ School community the weekend before Christmas Break.
“ALL IS CALM – The Christmas Truce of 1914” will be presented Friday and Saturday in Pingree at 7:30 each night. Admission is free.
Thank you to Mrs. Dillon for this synopsis of the play:
“The Western Front, Christmas, 1914. Out of the violence a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man's Land singing "Stille Nacht." Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace. A remarkable true story, told in the words and songs of the men who lived it.”
Musical direction for the play is being handled by Jim Cassarino with the cast filled out by students and faculty.
