Three-Time All-Star Visits Christ School Baseball Practice

Holland

Pitchers and catchers should have already reported, signaling the start to Spring Training.

One upside to the work stoppage in Major League Baseball is that Christ School could receive a visit from three-time All-Star relief pitcher Greg Holland on Wednesday.

Holland talked to the Greenies about the value of hard work and getting better every day. He threw a bullpen behind the Greenies’ dugout.

Holland, 36, is currently a free agent and has pitched in the past for Kansas City, Colorado, St. Louis, Washington, and Arizona. He has a career record of 30-27 with a 3.10 earned-run average, 672 strikeouts, and 220 saves.

Holland lives in western North Carolina and graduated from McDowell High School in Marion, N.C. He played college ball from 2005 to 2007 at Western Carolina University, which was coached at the time by Christ School assistant Todd Raleigh.
