Twenty years ago, the 2004-05 Greenies cut down the nets. Where? You might ask. Charlotte Providence Day, the same gym that the current Greenies will be in for Saturday’s NCISAA 4-A state championship game.
Players for the 2004-05 team were in alphabetical order: J.B. Baldwin ‘08, Rami Chilton ‘07, Grant Cleavenger ‘05, D.J. Clement ‘08, Thomas Coley ‘05, Malik Cooke ‘07, Filmon Dawkins ‘05, P.J. Dunn ‘06, Ted Eby ‘08, Chavis Holmes ’05, Travis Holmes ’05, Alvin Hudgins ‘05, Aaron Ingle ‘08, Tim Palmer '07, and Logan Parker ’05.
Coaches were: David Gaines ’84, P’26, Burt Siders, and Colton Houston.
Despite a flu bug that afflicted the team in the buildup and day of the game, the Greenies (32-1) beat Ravenscroft, 77-56, to complete their run to the NCISAA 3-A state championship.
