Carter Sherwood ’26 played well beyond his years, with the freshman winning 17 faceoffs.

Meanwhile, sophomore goalkeeper Lucas Little ’25 turned away shot after shot to finish with 11 saves.

Two new starters for Christ School varsity lacrosse did their jobs confidently and capably, allowing all the veterans to get a measure of revenge Friday by beating Charlotte Providence Day, 12-6, in a rematch of last year’s NCISAA Division I state championship game.

One of those veterans, Christian Hudson ’23, matched fellow junior Aiden Schook ’23 with three goals. Jack Shimer ’23 added two goals and the unbeaten Greenies (6-0) got one each from Nate Kelley ’22, Emmett Paradine ’22, Caden Paradine ’25, and Nick Crowley ’22.

Christ School led wire-to-wire thanks to two early goals from Christian and scored five unanswered goals to start the second half. The offense was not at full strength due to an ankle injury to Sam Bassett ’22, but the senior gave a halftime pep talk to the team.

The Greenies have a full week of practice before their next game – April 2 against Middle Creek as part of the Champions Challenge in Charlotte.
