CULLOWHEE – Christ School track athletes were some of their own best competition in the distance events and jumps Friday.
The Greenies scored big points in both areas and took first place in the 400-meter and 800-meter relays to win the Western North Carolina Kickoff Invitational.
Friday’s meet on the campus of Western Carolina University was the first large-scale competition of the outdoor season for the Greenies (135.33 points), who should again be in contention for the NCISAA Division I championship in May. Christ School has been the state runner-up to Charlotte Providence Day the past two years.
