Eleven days is the longest break between games that Christ School varsity basketball will have all season long.
The Greenies were largely unfazed by the extended time off Wednesday in High Point.
As has been the team’s tendency, Christ School started fast, jumping out to a double-digit lead before High Point Wesleyan Christian Academy had even scored its first point.
Point guard Keenan Wilkins ’24 set the tone with a season-high 20 points. Jamari Briggs ’24 added 15, and Anthony Robinson ‘23 had 11 as the Greenies ran away with a 57-35 road win.
Christ School improves to 6-0, continuing its best start to a season since 2012-13. That team was 11-0 before it lost a mid-December game at home to Wesleyan Christian.
The rest of the scorers Wednesday night for the Greenies were Bruce White ’24 (four points), Bryson Cokley ’24 (three), Lleyton Thomas-Johnson ’24 (two), and T.J. Hamilton (two.). The next game for Christ School is Friday at 7 p.m., taking on Lakewood (1-3) out of Sumter, S.C., as part of the Cardinal-Newman Hoop-ology Showcase in Columbia, S.C.
