BRISTOL, Tennessee – Wednesday’s game could have gone either way after a tie score of 22-all at halftime.
It went Christ School’s way, and in a big way.
Anthony Robinson '23 (17 points) and Bryson Cokley '24 (16) combined for 33 points and the Greenies continued their stay in the winners bracket of the Arby’s Classic holiday tournament with a 59-42 win over Atlanta’s Pace Academy.
Bryson also snared 10 rebounds. Emanuel Richards '23 scored 11 points to go along with four rebounds and three assists. Jamari Briggs '24 added eight points and Keenan Wilkins '24 had seven.
Christ School came out of the locker room in the third quarter, refreshed and motivated. A 12-2 run put some distance between the Greenies and Pace, who was their third opponent from the Atlanta area in two weeks.
With the win, Christ School's record is 16-0 for only the second time in school history (the 2008-09 state championship team started 22-0) and the team has equaled its wins total from the 2021-22 season, which was the first in Arden for Head Coach Josh Coley.
The Greenies will take on Westminster Academy (Fla.) in an Arby's quarterfinal game Thursday at 8 p.m.
