Buildup to Friday’s soccer game had been a prominent part of Spirit Week activities at Asheville School.

In the end, the boys in green had a little motivation burning inside of them, too.

Christ School scored four times within 13 minutes, a flurry that was more than enough for a 4-1 road win and the first sweep of the season series with the Blues since 2018.

Goals late in the first half from freshmen Truett Compton ‘25 and Charlie White ‘25 staked the Greenies (8-6, 4-3) to a 2-0 halftime lead. Brendan Regan ‘24 converted a pair of penalty kicks early in the second half.

Assists went to Jackson Knoll ‘23 and Carter Compton ‘24. Ben Yang ‘24 made eight saves.

Christ School needed a minor miracle to win the first meeting between the two rivals (3-2 on Sept. 14), scoring twice in the final three minutes. The rematch was a much different game, with the Greenies holding the Blues scoreless until the waning moments of regulation.
