Oftentimes, the most memorable submissions for Christ School's arts and literary magazine come from unlikely sources. Such is the case again this year. The Struan, a 64-page annual collection of works from Greenie students and faculty, was published last week.

Freeman put a decade worth of research into her first book and said she is indebted to Christ School for its help since her initial visit to campus in 2011.

"I have followed the school with great enthusiasm since then," Freeman said. "It is a real privilege to be here with you. This may be 2019, but the same ideals that are in place now are what Barton took with him."

J.D. Vance unabashedly believes in the American Dream and the right for all people to pursue happiness. Both are in dire need of repair.
