Twelve different players scored Thursday night and after falling behind 4-0 to start the game, Christ School varsity basketball only allowed 11 more points in a 63-15 road win at Spartanburg Day.

Christ School (5-1) has regained its spot as the No. 1 NCISAA team in the latest state rankings from Phenom Hoops just in time for the first-ever Asheville Classic showcase.

Christ School put four players in double figures Saturday and overcame a three-point halftime deficit to take a resounding 71-54 win over Concord Academy in the Charlotte Hoops Challenge.

CHARLOTTE - Lleyton Thomas-Johnson ’24 is bona fide as a high riser and high achiever for Christ School basketball.

Lleyton was one of five winners of a $1,000 AFLAC Scholarship at Thursday’s banquet for the Phenom Hoops George Lynch Invitational.

As of Friday, there are now 10 seniors from Christ School’s Class of 2024 who have committed to play college sports.

Christ School coach Josh Coley wore his big-game suit Friday night and the Greenies played up to that standard.

Keenan Wilkins ’24 lit up Legacy Early College (S.C.) for 24 points, Mikey Wilkins ’25 added 16 points, and Lleyton Thomas-Johnson ’24 had 12 in a 69-58 win that should reverberate regionally and nationally.

Players the caliber of Jamari Briggs ’24 can often be their own harshest critics.

The 6-foot-5 wing from Hartsville, S.C., was immediately going over things he could have done better in Friday night’s 69-58 home win over Legacy Early College (S.C.). His mood lightened up considerably when asked about being a Division I recruit.

Where there was a Wilkins, there was a way Tuesday night.

Cousins Keenan Wilkins ’24 and Mikey Wilkins ’25 always talked about what it would be like to be high school teammates. Christ School varsity basketball happens to be the benefactor of this long-awaited family reunion.

Christ School varsity basketball can count on getting every opponent’s best shot this season.

Seventeen years later, Mason Plumlee ’09 has crafted the longest professional basketball career of any player to ever emanate from a Western North Carolina high school.

Lucas Troutman ’10 was a towering presence for two state-championship teams at Christ School and would eventually be one of 15 Greenies to play professional basketball.

In recognition of his college career, Elon University has chosen Lucas as one of seven new inductees for its Sports Hall of Fame.

Christ School opened doors athletically, academically, and globally for Mason Plumlee ’09 that he never could have imagined.

Mason and his family are incredibly excited to return and give back with The Plumlee Basketball Camp, which begins in just 25 days. Space is still available for boys ages 11-18, and we’re excited to already have campers from 11 states represented, including a number of Greenie students. 

A new tradition served as the unofficial start to Christ School's 123rd Commencement Weekend on Thursday night.

Athletic success is not some new phenomenon at Christ School. Nevertheless, stop and appreciate the rare air that the Greenies are in right now.
