Kevin Snyder' 19 made an impact for Christ School Track and Field immediately as a freshman, but with help from Head Coach Randy Ashley and Demeseh Cobb, he transformed himself into an All-American jumper and one of the most decorated athletes in North Carolina. He will take that experience and compete at the Division I level next year. Snyder committed to the University of Miami on Monday, accepting a full athletic scholarship that will allow him to compete in the ACC for the next four years.

On May 18th and 19th, the NCISAA 3A State Track Championship was held at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC. Christ School had 16 boys on the State track roster and all came ready to compete. The 2018 spring season was loaded with strong individual results and the boys were finally prepped and charged to go after the best teams in the NCISAA 3A class.

All year long, the Greenies have pushed themselves for this weekend. After narrowly missing out on a state championship last season, the Track & Field team set their sights high in 2018, and the weekend has finally arrived.

The Greenies Track and Field team had the opportunity to host the CAA Conference Meet and didn't disappoint as they dominated the competition.

This weekend, four members of the Track and Field team traveled with Coach Cobb to the Penn Relays, the oldest and most prestigious track meet in the country, to compete in the 4x400m and the long jump.

On Wednesday, March 28th, the Buncombe County Track Championships were held at A.C. Reynolds High School. The County Championships served as the opening meet for the Greenies track squad. The boys squad finished 2nd in a field of 11 teams, with many outstanding performances.

Christ School was well-represented by three athletes at last weekend's New Balance Nationals Indoor track meet in New York City.

Last season, the Christ School track team finished just points away from a 3A State title, which would have been their first since the 1970s. That near-miss has been in the minds of Greenie runners, jumpers, and throwers all year as they look towards this year's State Championship at Ravenscroft School in May.

On Saturday February 17, 2018, the Christ School Indoor Track squad competed at the University of Kentucky Invitational in Lexington, KY.

On January 19th and 20th, the five members of the Christ School Greenies Track team competed at the highly touted VA Showcase Invitational at Liberty University.

This weekend, members of the Christ School Track and Field team will head to the prestigious North Carolina – Virginia Indoor Showcase to compete against some of the region's best runners and field athletes.

Last track season, Kevin Snyder '19 was named the Asheville Citizen Times All-WNC Track Athlete of the Year. Snyder, now a junior, won the 3A NCISAA State Long Jump as a freshman and sophomore, including setting a school record in last year's state meet.

After a successful Cross Country season in which he bested every WNC runner he faced, Andrew Hammel '20 has been named Western North Carolina Runner of the Year.
