Christ School junior Colin Breiter ’25 won the first event of the Western North Carolina High Disc Golf League in a sudden death playoff Wednesday. 

Colin threw a round of 4-under (50) at the private Avery's Spring Disc Golf Course in Arden, tying for the best score in the Varsity division. 

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Ethan Rose ’24 smoking a double down the right-field line to start the game was an auspicious start. 

Christ School proceeded to feast on Greenville (S.C.) Hurricanes pitching for 17 hits – 10 more than the seven combined hits in their last three games – to win on the road Wednesday, 13-5.  

DURHAM - Halfway across the state, Nate Wilberding ’25 and Christ School lacrosse made all the right halftime adjustments Wednesday afternoon, flipping a tie game into a 9-4 win at Durham Academy. 

Nate scored a season-high five goals, including four in the second half.

Christ School basketball (26-5) rose four spots to No. 77 in this week’s national rankings from MaxPreps, leapfrogging at least one team that was previously undefeated in North Carolina.

CANDLER, N.C. - Jonathan Reece ’25 ran the bases like it was no big deal Saturday, waiting for every runner in front of him to properly touch second, third, and home plate. 

It wasn’t even the catcher’s first grand slam in a little over a year with the Christ School baseball program, which speaks to the kind of run that Jonathan has been on.

Duke University recruit Dawson Reeves ’24 ran the sixth-fastest 2,000-meter steeplechase time in North Carolina history (6 minutes, 6.71 seconds) Saturday at the Spring Into the Season Kickoff track meet hosted by Metrolina Christian Academy.

BURLINGTON, N.C. - Defense got the job done for Christ School lacrosse again on Saturday. 

Goal-scorers for the undefeated Greenies (2-0) were University of Denver recruit Caden Paradine ’25, R.J. Fox ’25, and Queens recruit Parker Beiland ’24. Parker’s goal in the third quarter, his fifth of a young season, proved to be the game winner.

When a pitcher like Charlie Collins ’24 is dealing, it’s the best icebreaker of them all. 

The Western Carolina University recruit got better as Thursday night’s game wore on and Christ School’s bats eventually caught up for a 9-0 shutout of visiting Cannon School. 

Nothing less than returning Christ School lacrosse to state-championship contention will be enough for the players and coaches this spring.

RALEIGH – Keenan Wilkins ’24 was powerless to stop the bearhug of Jamari Briggs ’24. Next thing you know, the two seniors were lying in a pile of bodies on the court with teammates rushing over to pick them up. 

Ah, the exhilaration of back-to-back state championships. 

MATTHEWS - Deep in the recesses of a gym that could not legally hold another person Tuesday night, Christ School players rapped and danced to “Take Over Your Trap,” the 2016 hip-hop song that has become an anthem for winning road teams in sports. 

The music fit the mood. And it was a nice postgame moment, but only a moment before the tone in the locker room shifted to what’s next. 

Flying solo is a big deal for any pilot, especially one still in high school!

Luke Garner ’24 and Tyler Brouse ’25 have each taken off and landed without anyone else in the cockpit of the school plane, “Greenie1,” the past nine months.

Guards make the world go around for Christ School. 

Further confirmation is that three leaders of the backcourt have been picked for the March 2 N.C. Private School All-Star Basketball Game in Charlotte – Jamari Briggs ’24, Bryson Cokley ’24, and Keenan Wilkins ’24. 

Something felt off Saturday – like Christ School needed to recalibrate for its first competitive game in weeks.
